I love wild weather, so I was sitting in my car, sheltering from the icy wind, waiting in excited anticipation of a wild squall.

A combination of torrents of water streaming off the hills and the severe gales blowing upstream, magnified by a high noonday tide and almost full moon created some fascinating waves and mini-bores on this average English river.
