Blooming Heck!

“Oh you’re kidding me!”

“What number did she give you?” I shrieked in disbelief.

“I thought that was a house number!”

“No, an apartment number silly!”

“But I hate lifts!”

”How long have we got?”

“Just under half an hour.”

“Crikey, we’d better get a move on if I’m going to climb all those stairs and not look deranged on arrival.”

“I hope this is worth it.”

“If we get the contract, we’ll ask her if there are any really good coffee shops nearby that she’d recommend.”

“That way next time we can lure her down to ground level!”

Sunset Moments – Friday Fictioneers 27 October 2017

Sunset Moments

There’s something about a sunset… stops me in my tracks… dumbstruck.

Feeling my body torn… do what I think I should be doing… or stop?

Indulge this awesome moment!?…

“There’s never been a sunset like this one!”

Where’s the camera?… quick!

Pondering my actions…

Some say ‘You should just drink it in… if photographing it, you’re not ‘being here now’.

“Hmmm ?…………………”

Yes, maybe that’s their experience…. but not mine.

Using my camera keeps part of my mind busy, freeing me to be fully present in the moment.

Indulgently clicking away …

I’m going to really enjoy reliving this later!…

“…mmmmmmmmmmmmm ………..”

Mystical Oak Tree

“Is that it?! Doesn’t look very mystical!”

“Never had you down as a cynic Marshall …. anyway, someone’s built a wall and it’s changed the energy somehow.”

“Yea, that’ll be right! I’m, sure it’s made a difference!”

“Honestly… I can remember it…vividly… was almost dusk… the ceilidh was in full swing.  I came out to watch the sky and as I leaned against the oak… wee orbs of light, gently oozed out of the crevices where lightning had so violently struck it years ago.”

“What were you drinking?!”

“Just still water!”

“Right!!! And what still did that come from?!”

Day 3: Skin, Prose Poetry, Internal Rhyme

Sometimes I know that you are there, other times I do not dare acknowledge your existence.
The youthful beauty we once had I didn’t value and that’s so sad now that I know different.
But then that’s life, we come to know that beyond the skin our wisdom grows and even glows.
As we shine through other channels unseen to those who only value surface onlooking.
I am so deep that, you will never see, the extent my skin embraces me,
Much more than any single sense can tell about my life, a joy or hell.
But one thing that I now know and love is how I feel beneath this glove
A perfect fit my closest friend, memories are ours that only we, will cherish til our end.
