I awoke again this morning
With the scent of Autumn in the air.
It invigorated my spirit
End of summer’s almost there.
I can feel a building of excitement
As the season’s change again
The urge to gather nuts and stores
Ready for the onslaught
Of winters wind and rain.
I usually feel a sadness
When Summer’s almost done
But I’ve had my fill of sunshine
So now Autumn… bring it on!
As an avid cloud watcher, I was mesmerised by these strange
formations – waiting, to see what may happen next!
Stripped naked of its leaves, this beech tree exposed its trunk.
It fascinated me.
I wondered what had caused it to grow with such a bend in its trunk.
Anvil cloud or space ship?
My ‘Ooh Shiny’ is probably an ‘ Ooh, Ooh, wow, look at that!’
‘Where’s my camera?’
‘Got to get this one!’
Drink it in.
Indulge in the moment.
Wonder at the amazement of it all.
Take a few more shots.
And, knowing I will never see it again that way,
Hope I have at least captured some of the essence of that moment.
Successfully capturing the essence of a moment.
So much so, that when I revisit the image,
I am transported back,
Into that moment,
As if I am reliving it again.
As the remains of the blue sky slowly disappeared,
an unusual darkness decended …
…it was spectacular!
