Blooming Heck!
“Oh you’re kidding me!”
“What number did she give you?” I shrieked in disbelief.
“I thought that was a house number!”
“No, an apartment number silly!”
“But I hate lifts!”
”How long have we got?”
“Just under half an hour.”
“Crikey, we’d better get a move on if I’m going to climb all those stairs and not look deranged on arrival.”
“I hope this is worth it.”
“If we get the contract, we’ll ask her if there are any really good coffee shops nearby that she’d recommend.”
“That way next time we can lure her down to ground level!”
I hope they get the job after all that.

Hope she made it up all those stairs and won the contract!

I haven’t seen her since, so maybe she’s lost in the building! 🙂

Nice take. I’m glad I’m not afraid of elevators and escalators, although I’d probably be in better shape if i were 🙂

For all we know… the address is on the second floor 😉 Though by her reaction it is much higher up…

A coffee shop would be far more congenial! Keep climbing!

When I was really young, my shoe string got stuck in an escalator. For years I would almost panic getting on one – sometimes taking an elevator instead. I can identify with your story. Good piece!
